10.  From Bella Hanson - We still have openings for teachers in the Practitioner Research Project.  Come and join ABE colleagues in this exciting project.  You will do research with your students around a strategy you use or are thinking about using in teaching reading.  You will receive a stipend of $500 and reimbursement for travel and overnight stay if needed.

Teachers find this research to be excellent professional development.  To quote one teacher: "I've always been inquisitive -- a teacher willing to try new things.  But doing research of this kind caused me to reflect on my teaching more and modeled ways of experimenting that are more intensive and thorough."

The first session is November 17 and 18.  Contact Bella Hanson at bellahanson@comcast.net
