6. " I would like to share with you an op-ed I wrote that was published in The Christian Science Monitor this past Wednesday. In the piece I argue that it’s not that our nation suffers from a lack of well-paying jobs; it’s that our workers don’t have the education and training to fill those jobs. The op-ed is available at www.workforcestrategy.org/inthenews/christian_science_monitor_9.19.07.pdf.

“As the job market advances, so can American workers” suggests seven steps to move workers out of low-paying jobs into those that pay family-supporting wages. It is my hope that the op-ed will help add to the debate about how we develop a workforce that can meet the constantly changing demands of the global economy. The op-ed was in large part made possible due to Workforce Strategy Center’s collaborations with many of you over the past decade. I hope you find it interesting and I look forward to any feedback you might have."
