Hello ABE Colleagues:

The MN ABE professional development coordination team and the Minnesota Literacy Council (MLC) would like to invite all ABE staff to participate in MLC's new online discussion boards.  Please forward this message to your colleagues.

The discussion boards are easy to use (really, they are!) and offer a variety of theme-based discussion areas where you can post ideas and questions and your fellow ABE colleagues can respond.  This online resource will facilitate ongoing conversations among ABE professionals around the state on a variety of important ABE topics including:

bullet Workforce education
bullet Transitions to Post-Secondary
bullet GED
bullet ESL
bullet Math
bullet Basic Reading
bullet CASAS
bullet ABE Management
bullet

Citizenship

The discussion boards are housed at the following address:

http://online.themlc.org  under "ABE Discussion Boards."

Attached you will find instructions on how to get a username and password as well as how to use the discussion boards.  Any technical questions regarding the use of the discussion boards should be directed to Nima Salehi at the Minnesota Literacy Council:  nsalehi@themlc.org

If you have suggestions for new discussion topics or ideas for how these boards can be used for ABE professional development in MN, please contact Astrid Liden at Astrid.Liden@state.mn.us

We hope that you will give this new tool a try.  The discussions will only be as lively and beneficial as you, the field, make them.  Please log on often and participate to help create a vibrant community for sharing ABE related ideas and resources!
